The Crossing (in Homage to Alex Hartley’s Dropper)

The Crossing was inspired by Alex Hartley’s installation Dropper, first shown behind  Victoria Miro’s gallery in London and subsequently at Compton Verney in 2017. Cloche like, an incongruous multi coloured 'Bucky Fuller' geodesic dome, as if it had landed from the sky, rests on a pontoon jetty at one end of a raft ferry. The single figure, perhaps the inhabitant of the dome, surveys the landscape and water infront of him.
