Konstanze’s Freedom

As with all the work made in response to Tom’s two years, as Associate Artist at Glyndebourne, a donation is made to Glyndebourne’s Young Artist programme from the sale of this woodcut.

Konstanze's Freedom is a woodcut almost in symmetry to be seen with Konstanze at the Window. Here our heroine along with her maidservant, Blonde, and her husband, Belmonte along with his man servant, Pedrillo (who is incidentally Blonde's amore) are escaping lickityspit from Pasha Selim's harem which you can see in the background as a crown shaped villa on the headland. They are sailing into their future. - TH
