Horse and Caravan

This little panel painting came from regularly passing a roadside horse and caravan on a back lane on my way to my studio in Newhaven, East Sussex. The Downs are silhouetted behind the barn. A muddy circumference of patchy ground around the pony is made by being tethered to a spike with a heavy chain. I always wanted to set the animal free but have always fancied living in a room on wheels. - TH
