As an artist I feel in part  I want to somehow obliquely tell the story of one’s time on Earth. As the title of this complex woodcut suggests, with the backdrop of our political system running away from decisions that  take responsibility now to avert the worst outcomes of climate catastrophe, I have tried to make an image that celebrates the reseeding of Earth at an individual level. 

Here a small  action of growing flowers in a field has  affected positive change at a local level, and has personally negated some of the doom and gloom I feel of our existential crisis, and I hope in some small way acts as an image that defies a universal feeling of dread and despair at the state we’re in environmentally. The plants cannot be identified specifically as examples of flora we come across in everyday life. But I hope their strangeness connects to what might be conjured out of the primordial soup that feeds life - TH
