Sometimes images for paintings and prints come in waves. After spending time over the last few years visiting a friends patch of a Norfolk field where he grows an assortment of flowers for market, the cacophony and proliferation of multi coloured and seasonal flowers has become totally up lifting. These blooms which of course I have exaggerated in scale, but in reality are nevertheless an equivalent to a multi coloured quilt of pattern, are perfect excuses in the artificially curated natural world for starbursts of colour. While climate change rages around us and Neo liberals seem to take control adding anxiety and response to all our news feeds perhaps I am hiding too much behind the deliciousness and simplicity of a young team bringing so much beauty into the world. But as I get older I want to enjoy living in the moment on a patch of land that offers so much effervescent joy. - TH
