Pelléas et Mélisande was made alongside A Walk in the Castle Gardens and Waiting for Mélisande, to celebrate the new production at Glyndebourne of Debussy's opera of the same title. Instead of setting the images in the grounds of a Wagnerian Castle in the forest, they are set closer to home – an Indian Mélisande, wearing a sari, and an East End Pelléas, wearing a bomber jacket, kiss in front of a high rise in Tower Hamlets where Tom lived at the time.
