This print started as a drawing of a house in a gated housing estate. The randomness of the windy moonlit sky with its dramatic romantic connotations contrasts with the stillness of this suburban scene. This dichotomy between the regimented order of suburbia and the plurality and intoxication of nature is a Lynchian device, often explored in both contemporary film and painting.
