There is a strong counterpoint between Mozart’s mellifluous music in Cosi, and the darker undercurrent of cruelty about relationships in the plot. To covey the trickery of both Gugliemo and Ferrando, I drew them in the shows as a conniving pair behind Fiordiligi and Dorabella - TH

Like in Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde, Billy Budd, Britten’s haunting opera that takes place at sea, has a lot of repeating motifs within the music, based around the operation of the ship. I have also tried to get the soporific effect of the sea shanties across by using typography on the waves for the ship to ride over - TH
