The colour differentiation seen in Anne Trulove's dress and Tom Rakewell's clothing is quite a blatant indication of their characters. Anne, the eternal optimist never loses faith in her love redemption meanwhile the Rake, by turning away and looking at her house, has replaced his love interest with more acquisitive intention. - TH
