Miles to go before I Sleep at Paul Smith
Tom and Paul Smith have collaborated on an exhibition at the Paul Smith shop at 9 Albermarle Street, London W1.
The title comes from a Robert Frost poem,
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
The show got delayed because of lockdown in November and ended up opening in December 2020 and is now available online @paulsmith.com.
To accompany the exhibition both Tom and Paul Smith have produced new and exclusive items to celebrate their collaboration. Tom has produced two new limited edition reduction woodcut prints, Arrival at the Ball 2020 and Full Sail 2020, both exclusive to Paul Smith. And Paul has designed a small collection of silk accessories, two pocket squares and a scarf, that feature Tom’s images.
